Becci had a stroke Dec 19 2017.
She was asymptomatic.
No clue it would happen but also no chance of potentially finding out because she did not like going to the doctors.
If she had insurance would she have gone? I think so. Everyone should have a regular check up.
It is now May 2019.
The road to this point has been full of unbelieveable tales.
Why am I starting to write now?
Necessity for one.
One of the last stories is an eviction story that is so strange it needs to be told to shame the landlord into giving back our deposit money.
I would be grateful if you could share the URL with your friends and family and ask them to do the same.
Maybe we can develop a model of how to change peoples attitudes.
I will write about the times I have contacted women in the social media industry for some help and what happened.
It has been hard to find the time.
Becci is maximum assist.
She is paralyzed on the left side.
Her mind is crisp and she remembers everything.
My goal is to get her walking again.
The docs say this is not possible and advised me to put her in a home where she can get 24/7 care.
I prefer to give that 24/7 care.
She deserves my full attention.
She has been a wonderful friend and companion over the last 16 years.
For the last 5 whilst she nursed me back to health we have considered each other man and wife.
We have never married because we are in the latter stages of our lives.
She is 65 and I, 60 yrs of age.
We are comfortable with who we are.
We are not going to procreate.
All the reasons why young folk should get married do not apply here.
It is because I have devoted all my waking hours to taking care of B that there has been little free time.
During the times I could have sat down to write I couldn’t.
It’s hard to explain, but to write this story I have to get angry.
I don’t like anger.
I do not like confrontation.
It drains my soul.
I played and coached rugby up until my 50th birthday.
Because it is such a hard and physical sport some assume you have to be angry.
Not so.
See my article on why rugby is a high (not written yet)
The last 500 days since the stroke need not have been so bad had the board of her organization simply helped her instead of ‘kicking her to the curb’
It was their actions in treating a 15 yr loyal executive director that have fueled my desire to write.
Hence this website www.kicked2curb.com
I want this site not only simply tell the stories but to create discussion.
Do we have to be considerate of others?
Should we care?
Who cares?
Where are the hypocrisies?
Who are the hypocrites?
What would you do?
And so much more.
I expect the site to take many years to reach its potential.
I believe we can change people’s attitudes via the internet better than the pulpit ever has or will.
I will highlight a few of my religious heroes. Those I believe have got it right and are prepared to stand up for what they believe.
See Can religion lead us to be better human beings (not written yet)
I want to broach the topic of luck.
Does luck play a part in our lives?
Are we geniuses?
Many say we are exactly where we are because of our own actions.
Is this true?
When you read how this all started you might think again.
“There but for the Grace of God go I”
The more you read Beccis story you might also agree she has a destiny with something.
The amount and level of coincidences are unreal. No one person could possibly have gone through so much unbelieveable bad luck.

The BABC (British American Business Council) board headed and led by 2 Brits should never have taken the path they did.
I will tell the story and identify the ring leaders.
You will be shocked at the actions taken.
This will be the first story.
Had they taken a better, nobler, more human path, none of the hardships would have ensued.

I will tell the story of how St Lukes hospital in Sugarland allowed B to be thrown into the back of a pick up truck.
On New Years Eve 2017/18 no less.
see Becci thrown into back of pick up truck by hospital (not written yet)
With no insurance hospitals only require they get her stable.
What does this actually mean?
B has been thrown out of hospitals at least three times when she was in such dire straights.
B was kicked off inpatient therapy twice just because she had a small health issue which was easily resolved.
This is the true state of medical industry.
See Becci kicked out of so many hospitals with so many problems unresolved (not written yet)
The reality of ‘Personal Care Homes”
If you do not have insurance this is where you end up if no one can or will care for you.
Hint. I wouldn’t board my dog in some of them.
They are an affront to the dignity of human beings.
I will tell the story of when Beccis daughter was conned into sending mum to a personal care home which was in the heart of an economically deprived neighbourhood with a homeless encampment at the end of the street.
How I followed the ambulance and conned the hospital into agreeing to take her back.
I will tell the story of one personal care home which would not allow her back after she had a urinary tract infection on the grounds she was too much trouble. Becci had no rights.
After putting her in another home I finally decided after a few days to take her out and look after her myself.
I did not know how I would do it. My heart was doing badly. Read the story.

One of the longest and ongoing discussions will be about how Beccis friends and family treated her.
I was shocked. You will not believe.
See Family, Friends and what? (not written yet)
Not only Beccis friends but also mine.
I’ve given back to my rugby community many times over.
For free.
Many have had enormous enjoyment from my many hours of hard work
Yet most turned their backs on us.
Should I have expected anything more from what is generally a disparate group of people from all socio economic backgrounds?

We regard helping others as a privilige.

How we got evicted from our rental.
I promise you will not believe.
We did nothing wrong.
We tried to help.
We took on a powerful wealthy lawyer and his law firm.
We are currently homeless because this man did not like us telling him how he could help his 84 yr old mother.
The judge told him to give us back our deposit money.
That money would get us into another home.
He has refused to return knowing we would have to sue.
Most would have thanked us for caring so much for a loved one.
He kicked us out.
To cap it all he has a special title within the Greek Orthodox church.
How the wealthy pay to play.
I shall write about our days living in my cargo trailer.
The trials and tribulations……well trials at least.
Who would have thought it would be so difficult ‘camping’

We want to take our story to all those who have kicked us to the curb or turned their back on us.
I call it a protest.
But I really want people to look me in the eye and understand they were not decent human beings.
Maybe we can shame them.
Maybe they will change?
We have done nothing wrong.
We will not slink off into the night.
see Protest
Becci transitioned to Medicare in January 2019.
Our experiences.
The system is broke.
The healthcare industry seems to have an inept group of people who want to do the least.
Either they know less than I or they don’t care to do the work.
I will talk about some of the arguments and struggles with the backroom staff of various doctors.
It was backroom staff at one office that caused the reschedule of an op where the new date ended up being the day B had her stroke. I would normally be right by her side and could have taken to hospital immediately. Not this day. I was in hospital having my defibrillator changed. Unbelievable bad luck.
see Medicare Malaise (not written yet)
We spent 4 days living in a cargo trailer and 3 in a cheap hotel when money allows.
I will write the story of how a property manager and regional manager for a well known group of hotels were so angry we complained to corporate, they are trying to evict us before the end of the paid stay.
Plus refusing to do the repairs.
This story is not finished.
I wrote all the news media.
I found CEO and VP of the hotel chain via Linkedin.
AND owner of the money fund which owns the hotel group and actually lives in Houston.
Lets see if they respond.
I will also explain all the protocols and tools I have used to try to get B back on her feet.
Most work and have helped enormously.
